RoK company plans energy plant

Tae Kwang Vina Industrial Co of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has submitted plans for a 1 billion USD coal-fired power plant in Nhon Trach, in the southern province of Dong Nai.

Tae Kwang Vina Industrial Co of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has submitted plans for a 1 billion USD coal-fired power plant in Nhon Trach, in the southern province of Dong Nai.

 

The plant will have a capacity of 1,000 MW and be able to generate 7,880GWh of electricity annually.

 

Other potential investors in the project are the Korea Electric Power Corporation and the RoK Hunchems Fine Chemical Company.

 

As planned, the plant will use coal produced either domestically or abroad. It will use US environmentally-friendly technology, the company said.

 

In Nhon Trach, the USs Gannon Group and the UKs BP Corporation, are also planning to build gas-fuelled power plants in addition to Viet Nam National Oil and Gas Groups 450 MW power plant, which is currently under construction.
