(ĐN)- “The province’s post and telecommunication sector should support providers in developing public telecommunication systems including network development and expansion of public access that will facilitate access to telecommunications and information technology for people in deep-lying and remote areas” said Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Ao Van Thinh at a recent meeting to set tasks for 2007 held by the Provincial Post Office.
The Vice Chairman also stressed that the need for the Provincial Post Office to develop tight cooperation with other telecom providers to ensure communication safety and national security, especially in Tet Holidays as well as boost their cooperation to increase flood mitigation and minimise consequences of natural calamities.
The province’s post and telecommunication sector growth targets set for 2007 are very positive. Accordingly, the provincial post and telecommunications revenue is expected to be 20-25 percent higher than last year and this year will see a 10-15 per cent increase in number of telephone subscribers in the province.
