In 2006, the Dong Nai Social Insurance Department collected VND 1,018 billion from social insurance buyers. The figure grew by 27 per cent over 2005, 7 percent more than the set target. Last year, the province also saw a 38 per cent rise in the number of people who participated in voluntary social insurance, 57 per cent higher than the set target. In addition, the Dong Nai Social Insurance Department held VND 22.674 billion in 2006, contributed by people who participated in voluntary social insurance, up 95 per cent over 2005, 88 per cent more than the set target.
The Department said that it will encourage the working people and enterprises to participate in compulsory social insurance and compulsory health insurance in 2007 in order to raise the number up to 8 per cent compared with the 2006 figure and the number of voluntary health insurance beneficiaries jumping by 10-15 per cent.
