(ĐN) - On the occasion of the visit by Prime Minister Edward Lowassa and high-ranking delegation from Tanzania to Vietnam from 4-9 September, the Tanzanian Minister for Industry, Trade and Marketing Nazir Karamagi recently paid a visit to the Southern Agricultural Machinery Company (Vikyno) to seek cooperative opportunities in Dong Nai province. Mr. Nazir Karamagi said that of Tanzania’s 43 million hectares of agricultural land, only 6% is used for crop cultivation and the rest is idle. Thus, he also noted that boosting bilateral cooperation in agriculture and food processing would bring mutual benefit to both countries.

Tanzania and Vietnam ties have expanded continuously since the two countries established diplomatic ties over 40 years ago. Especially, the state visit by former Tanzanian President Benjamin Mkapa to Vietnam in 2004 has lifted bilateral ties to a new stage.
