(ĐN)- The province’s financial system must be transparent and non-discriminatory as well as have proper policies and procedures to strengthen public finance performance in the province and to bring the province step by step closer to regional and world economies. These remarks were made at recent conference of the province’s financial sector by Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Vo Van Mot. He also emphasized the need for the sector to continue reforming and raising quality of financial-budgetary management as well as to try to build up a transparent, strong, effective and efficient financial staff in order to prevent negative practices including corruption and wastefulness. He said at the conference that it is very important to train young, dedicated and qualified staff for the province’s financial sector.

Mot also required the shortest time to complete assessments of compensation projects for site clearance and relocation of local people. In addition, he urged the financial sector to implement auction for land-use rights in this year.

In 2006, the province’s financial sector registers a 6-10 per cent increase in budget collection.
