ĐN) – On January 28, thousands of people gathered in Tran Bien Temple of Literature to celebrate Lunar New Year’s Eve. Also present here were provincial leaders to welcome Lunar New Year 2006.On the occasion of the coming Tet holidays, provincial leaders and the people burnt incense in memory of well-known men who were worshiped at the temple. Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh, Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Council beat a drum at the stroke of midnight on Lunar New Years Eve. Bien Hoa’s sky lit up with sparkling fireworks as soon as the beating of the drum stopped.
On New Year’s Eve, provincial leaders gave New Years Greeting’s and li xi or gifts of money to staff who was working in places holding New Year’s eve celebrations.
The city people also enjoyed many interesting performances held at outdoor stages such as lion dances and singing etc.
