Evaluation of Implementation of Credit Project in 2005

(ĐN)- Dong Nai Committee for Population, Family and Children has just held a conference aiming to evaluate the implementation of credit project in Dong Nai during the year 2005. The project is to integrate population with sustainable family development through credit and saving activities and development of the family economy.

The project builds hunger eradication and poverty alleviation models in special areas (areas of ethnic minorities, coastal areas, highland and border areas, islands, former resistance bases, deep-lying areas in the Mekong River delta). It has implemented in provincial districts such as Tan Phu and Vinh Cuu. Especially, the project has lent capital amounting to over VND 2.8 billion to 470 poor households for production and business development in Tan Phu district until the end of 2005. The project has provided minimum loans of VND3 million and maximum loans of VND10 million to a borrower who got favorable interest rate on a loan of 0.5%.
