According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP), the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has reduced anti-dumping tax rates applied to two Vietnamese basa exporters.
Of the two compulsory defendants in the anti-dumping lawsuits of 2003, Cataco, has received a tax reduction from 41.06% to 38.8%, and Vinh Hoan Limited Company from 37.94% to 7.23%.
Nguyen Huu Dung, VASEP’s Secretary General sees this preliminary decision as a good sign, however, he said that there are some mistakes in the calculations serving as the basis for the tax reductions.
DOC will make further investigations and release a final decision in October.
