(ĐN)- Addressing at the ceremony held by Casumina to receive State-awarded Labor Hero Title, Mr. Bui Xuan Khu, Standing Vice Minister of Industry highly praised the company for its efforts on promoting the business role in sustainable development. He also emphasized that Casumina should further research to aim at stimulating investment in technology renewal, increase of production, improvement of product quality to reach low-cost production. These would help the company raise competitiveness of products in the markets as well as expand its market penetration.
During the past ten years from 1994-2004, Casumina has brought to the market with 60 million bicycle tyres and tubes , 40 million motorbike tyres and tubes and over 1 million automobile tyres and tubes. At the same time, exports aimed at foreign markets with the volume of 2.5 automotive tyres and tubes, a few hundred tonnes of technical rubber products and rubber gloves worth US$ 5 million per year. In order to dominate with a 50 percent market share, Casumina has invested 376 billion VND in technology renewal aiming to diversify its products, improve packaging and product quality and raise the capacity. During the period, the value of the companys unique initiatives have been contributed nearly VND 40 billion to State budget. In 2004, the company’s turnover reached over VND 1,000 billion.
