(ĐN)- In May 31, 05, a conference with its purpose of evaluating the city economic and social situation from 2000 to 2004 was held in Bien Hoa City.

During past 5 years, the annual average economy growth in Bien Hoa City has reached up 14 %; this is higher than that of the province. Bien Hoa is the top place in Dong Nai that has won prizes in the provincial exams or contests for good learners. Doctors take responsible for health care for the people at medical stations every ward and commune around the city. The city has created many jobs for workforce. Accordingly, the city unemployment rate has decreased to 2.23%. The poor have been lower 0.22%. Bien Hoa is also a leading place that takes care well beneficiaries of social welfare as well as helps outstanding poor people. Besides, the city participates actively in charity work.

Speaking at this conference, Vo Van Mot, the Chairman of the Provincial Peoples’ Committee attracted the city attention to take the initiative in stepping up their economic and social development for the cause of industrialization and modernization.
