From April 30, Dong Nai will officially become the country’s seventh city, following Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, Hai Phong, and Hue.

On April 24, the National Assembly (NA) approved the resolution establishing Dong Nai City, which will take effect on April 30, 2026. From that date, agencies, organizations, and units whose names are associated with Dong Nai province will be renamed to reflect Dong Nai City.

Under the NA’s resolution, Dong Nai City is formed from the full natural area and population of Dong Nai province.

Dong Nai City borders Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong province, Tay Ninh province, and the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Below is a selection of aerial photographs capturing the beauty and development of Dong Nai City.
