The annual Supply–Demand Connection Program between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities nationwide is one of several trade promotion initiatives featuring a range of activities that connect supply chains from production to consumption between Ho Chi Minh City and localities across the country, including Dong Nai City.

Businesses, production facilities and producers participating in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program from Dong Nai have taken part in numerous trade promotion and business-matching activities under the initiative.

15 years of building supply–demand connections

The 2026 program marked 15 years of supply–demand connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities, under the theme “Connecting Responsibly — Developing Green, Digital and Sustainable Supply Chains.” The program continues to introduce new approaches to facilitating connections, make greater use of technology and e-commerce, and expand connections across multiple channels. It is also stepping up efforts to connect manufacturing businesses and cooperatives with distribution networks, e-commerce platforms and sales partners.

Luong Hoang Thai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, said that over the past 15 years, the program had expanded in both scale and reach, attracting active participation from local authorities, businesses, cooperatives, distribution networks, logistics providers, e-commerce companies and other stakeholders across supply chains. The program has created more opportunities for direct business transactions while helping establish stable links between production and consumption. These connections provide a foundation for local economic development, enhance businesses’ ability to meet market demand and enable stakeholders to play a more proactive role in supply chains.

Dong Nai has been an active participant in the Supply–Demand Connection Program between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities throughout its 15-year history. The Dong Nai City Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center has also been recognized for its significant contributions to the program’s success.

Nguyen Van Linh, Deputy Director of the center, said this was the 15th time a delegation of Dong Nai businesses had participated in the program. “What began as a series of one-day events has gradually expanded in scale and duration, while delivering increasingly effective business connections between local companies and the Ho Chi Minh City market, particularly major distributors, retail chains and supermarkets across the city,” Linh said.

Strengthening supply chain connections

According to Linh, Dong Nai’s delegation in 2026 comprised around 20 businesses and cooperatives showcasing their products, with a focus on OCOP-certified products and other signature offerings from the city. The delegation’s display included one joint booth representing the city and eight booths operated by individual businesses.

Tran Chi Hieu, a marketing representative of the Tuong Viet Hoa Sen Dipping Sauce Production Facility in Binh Loc Ward, said the program had provided the facility with additional opportunities to connect with supermarket chains and major distribution channels in Ho Chi Minh City. The event also provided a valuable platform to promote the facility’s products and bring them closer to consumers. In particular, it has enabled the business to seek new partners and customers in preparation for supplying the market during the upcoming Lunar New Year shopping season.

A key highlight of the 2026 program is its increased focus on promoting and expanding markets for products participating in the “Responsible Green Tick” goods quality control cooperation program. The initiative links supplier accountability with quality control and post-market checks by distribution networks, while strengthening product traceability and information transparency.

Vo Thi Hien, owner of the Co Hai Clean Pepper Production Facility in Dak O Commune, said the facility had brought its flagship products, including pepper and dried jackfruit certified as four-star OCOP products, to the supply-demand matchmaking program between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities to promote its products and establish business connections. At this year's event, the facility connected with two pepper distributors to explore opportunities for market development. Beyond establishing sales channels, Hien said the program also provided an excellent opportunity for the facility to seek raw material suppliers to support production and develop new product lines.

In the new development landscape, supply-demand cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and other localities needs to be taken to a higher level. At the same time, supply-demand matchmaking activities are increasingly focused on building responsible supply chains, accelerating digital transformation and supporting businesses and cooperatives in developing digital storefronts, adopting multichannel sales strategies, applying artificial intelligence and engaging in e-commerce.

Vu Ngoc Long, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee, Director of the city's Department of Industry and Trade, said the program had helped local businesses, including those in Dong Nai, expand both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) connections. Going forward, the department will continue working with the city’s Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center and relevant agencies to help businesses, cooperatives and OCOP producers improve the effectiveness of their commercial connections. The department will also roll out year-end consumer demand stimulus programs to bring Dong Nai’s key products and regional specialties closer to consumers.
