According to a report by SPMB, the transmission line will pass through 15 communes and wards in Dong Nai: Tho Son, Dak Nhau, Bom Bo, Phu Nghia, Dak O, Da Kia, Phuoc Binh, Binh Tan, Phu Rieng, Long Ha, Tan Hung, Tan Quan, Binh Long, Minh Duc and Tan Khai. The project will involve the construction of 257 transmission tower foundations, for which approximately 36 hectares of land are expected to be acquired.

With total investment exceeding VND11.5 trillion, the project is scheduled to break ground in the first quarter of 2027 and begin commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2028, in accordance with Prime Ministerial Decision No. 2634/QD-TTg dated December 2, 2025.

To ensure the project stays on schedule, SPMB has asked the Department of Agriculture and Environment to assist with reviewing and approving cadastral maps, incorporating the transmission route into local planning documents and adding the project to the list of land acquisition projects for 2027. The department is also expected to coordinate procedures related to forest-use conversion, forest valuation, compensation and site clearance, and arrange for the relevant agency to carry out these tasks.

SPMB has called on the People’s Committees of the 15 affected communes and wards to develop compensation and site clearance plans with clearly defined deadlines. Local authorities are also urged to assess resettlement needs, step up public information campaigns to secure residents’ support, and promptly engage in dialogue to resolve outstanding issues. The local authorities are to prioritize compensation and site clearance to ensure that the land is handed over in the fourth quarter of 2027. Residents must also be informed that no new houses or other structures should be built within the project corridor.

Following SPMB’s report and recommendations, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Cat Tien directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to take the lead in coordinating with relevant departments and local authorities to complete land-related procedures, including those involving forestland, and ensure compensation and support are provided in accordance with regulations.

The city has instructed the people’s committees of the 15 affected communes and wards to work together to resolve obstacles and accelerate compensation and site clearance so that the project can proceed as planned. Local authorities are also required to strengthen public outreach and engagement to build consensus among residents throughout the implementation process.

The project owner and consulting unit have been instructed to work closely with the city's departments and agencies to draw up a critical-path schedule for the project as soon as possible, clearly specifying the tasks, implementation timelines, units in charge and responsibilities of each agency. Any difficulties or obstacles arising during implementation must be reported promptly so that guidance can be provided and the issues resolved immediately, ensuring that the project remains on schedule.

The Krong Buk–Tay Ninh 1 500kV transmission line will stretch approximately 330 kilometers across five provinces and cities. Dong Nai will account for the longest section, at around 130 kilometers. The project aims to ensure that the full output of power generation projects in the Central and Central Highlands regions can be transmitted to the national grid. It is expected to strengthen electricity supplies to the Southern region, the Central region and the Central Highlands, while safeguarding national energy security.
