Dong Nai attracts high-quality FDI inflows

In recent times, a growing number of foreign direct investment (FDI) corporations have visited Dong Nai to explore investment opportunities in manufacturing, trade and services, logistics, real estate, tourism and high-tech agriculture.

Their interest is far from coincidental. With Long Thanh International Airport project nearing completion and an increasingly integrated transport network of expressways, ring roads and seaports, Dong Nai is evolving from a gateway to the Southeast region into a strategic connectivity hub for the entire southern region—an advantage enjoyed by few localities nationwide.

However, infrastructure advantages alone are no longer enough to attract investors. Foreign enterprises are also looking for a favorable investment environment, including readily available industrial land, efficient administrative procedures, reliable green energy supplies, modern logistics services and, above all, a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting modernproduction and business. As competition for FDI intensifies, localities that offer transparent governance, reasonable operating costs and strong support for businesses will have a distinct competitive edge.

Dong Nai has consistently pursued a selective investment strategy. The city prioritizes high-tech, environmentally friendly projects that are less labor-intensive, generate high added value, and can integrate into industrial supply chains to foster sustainable development. Conversely, projects that pose environmental risks, rely on outdated technologies or are heavily labor-intensive will be rejected. This consistent approach is intended to lay the foundation for a green and sustainable economy.

Recently, the City Party Committee’s Executive Board issued Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU, launching a special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign under the theme “Unity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough, building Dong Nai into a civilized and modern city,” with implementation continuing through 2030. To this end, every department, agency and locality must developconcrete and decisive action plans to achieve the targeted double-digit economic growth.

At the same time, the city must accelerate transport projects linking industrial parks with Long Thanh International Airport, invest in new industrial park infrastructure, prepare clean land resources, further streamline administrative procedures and strengthen the development of high-quality human resources.

Amid the fourth wave of FDI inflows, Dong Nai no longer focuses on merely increasing the number of projects or the total registered investment capital. Instead, the city is prioritizing the quality of investment and its long-term contribution to economic development. This strategy is expected to support the development of a modern, competitive industrial base, promote sustainable growth and position Dong Nai as one of the country's new economic growth poles.
