According to the plan, Phuoc Khanh Bridge will complete side span closure in mid-May and main span closure in mid-June before moving into the completion phase, aiming for opening to traffic around July 2026.
Phuoc Khanh Bridge stretches more than 3.1 kilometers in length, with a deck width of nearly 22 meters. Its main span extends 300 meters, and it offers a vertical clearance of up to 55 meters for navigation. The bridge will directly connect Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai Province. It is a cable-stayed bridge with the highest navigation clearance in Vietnam and, together with Binh Khanh Bridge, it represents one of the two most technically challenging components of the entire Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway.
The Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway spans nearly 58 kilometers, passing through Dong Nai Province, Tay Ninh Province, and Ho Chi Minh City. This expressway plays a vital role in regional connectivity, forming a strategic transport corridor linking the Mekong Delta with the Southeast region. The expressway is also a key route supporting access to Long Thanh International Airport. To date, approximately 30 kilometers of the expressway have been put into operation.
On the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, the construction of Phuoc Khanh Bridge was previously part of the project's J3 package. During the implementation of the package, many difficulties were encountered, and the contractor consortium stopped construction when the package was not yet completed. VEC then terminated the J3 package contract and established the J3-1 package as a replacement. The J3-1 package is one of the last packages to be completed for the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Project.
