Dong Nai has two national strategic multi-purpose hydropower plants

On April 7, the Government issued Decision No. 637/QD-TTg approving the list of nine strategic multi-purpose hydropower plants. These are large-scale projects that are especially crucial to socioeconomic development, national defense, and national security.

Of these, Dong Nai province has two projects: the Tri An Hydropower Plant (with a capacity of 400 MW) and the expanded Tri An Hydropower Plant (with a capacity of 200 MW). Other significant hydropower plants are featured in this list, including Son La, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau hydropower plants, etc.

The Tri An Hydropower Plant and the expanded Tri An Hydropower Plant are particularly important to the Southeast region in general and Dong Nai province in particular. They not only provide electricity but also help control floods, supply water for production and daily life, and contribute to ensuring water security.
