In their first year of commercial operation, Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 power plants brought significant economic efficiency, according to Pham Van Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade.
Specifically, the two plants provide a stable supply of about 9 billion kWh of electricity each year to the national grid, serving as an important supplementary source at a time when global fuel supplies remain highly volatile, and Vietnam is targeting double-digit economic growth. The increase in stable power supply provides a basis for meeting production and business requirements, laying the foundation for attracting high-tech, power-intensive industries such as data centers and artificial intelligence.
Beyond that significance, the two plants could generate annual revenue of about 27 trillion VND as early as 2026, while contributing around 1 trillion VND to the Dong Nai budget. This feature is an important source of resources, helping increase budget revenues and promote local economic development.
Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant began commercial operation in November 2025, while Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant entered commercial operation in December 2025. This occasion marks the first year the project has operated both plants simultaneously.
