In implementing the new-style rural development program, Dong Nai Province has consistently prioritized investment in rural clean water. The province is currently rolling out multiple projects to upgrade and build new rural water supply systems.

Accordingly, the province is implementing 11 rural clean water projects with a budget of 514.8 billion VND, supplying water to nearly 80,000 households. In addition, the province is expected to invest in 269 km of pipelines with a total budget of nearly 455 billion VND, serving nearly 98,000 rural households. By the end of the first quarter of 2026, the percentage of rural households in the province using clean water according to standards reached 79%. Of that total, the percentage of households using water from centralized water supply systems reached about 43%, while households using small-scale water supply systems and household water filters accounted for 35%. The percentage of rural households using hygienic domestic water reached 100%.

Compared to the 2016–2020 period, significant progress has been recorded in the 2021–2025 phase. The rate of rural households in the former Dong Nai Province using standard-compliant clean water increased by nearly 4.4%, while the corresponding figure in the former Binh Phuoc Province rose by more than 59.2%.
