Thong Nhat recognized as new rural district

So far, 9 out of 10 communes in Thong Nhat district have qualified as new rural areas, the remaining has satisfied 17-18 criteria for new rural development. Income per capita of individuals in the locality was over VND35 million in 2015, up 92.3 percent compared to 2010. Over the past five years, the district invested approximately VND15 trillion for new rural construction.

The district established 13 specialized crop areas and 1.005 farms with 365,000 pigs and 3.5 million poultry.

At the ceremony, Dong Nai also reviewed five years of implementation of the national programme on new-style rural area building in the period 2011-2015.

Over the past five years, Dong Nai mobilized over VND176 trillion to develop agriculture, build new rural areas and improve farmers’ living standards.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister hailed Dong Nai province for its achievements in building new-style rural areas. He asked the locality to focus on mobilizing resources inside and outside the province as well as effectively promote its potential and advantages to build new rural areas.

Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee said that the province has seen a facelift after implementing the Government’s new-style rural building programme. Accordingly, Dong Nai will make more efforts to push ahead with developing hi-tech agriculture, duplicating connectivity models and promoting the application of science-technology in processing and production to bring higher economic values, so that the province meets all the standards for a new rural province by 2020.

On this occasion, Dong Nai People’s Committee honored 39 new-style rural communes in 2015 and many outstanding collectives and individuals.
