Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai has approved review results and planning of industrial clusters in 20 provinces and cities as suggested by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT).
The reviewed localities are Bac Giang, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Da Nang, Dien Bien, Dong Thap, Ha Giang, Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hau Giang, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Lang Son, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Quang Nam, Son La, Thai Binh and Vinh Phuc.
Deputy PM Hai assigned the MOIT to inform the approved planning to the localities, monitor, follow up and organize the implementation as regulated.
He asked the People’s Committees of the localities to devise plans, establish and expand industrial clusters as regulated, address problems in ineffective clusters, seek solutions to enhancing examination over the compliance of legal regulations related to industrial clusters and continue PM Nguyen Tan Dung’s Directive on the matter.
According to the MOIT’s Agency of Local Industry, in the first phase of the review, 14 localities, including Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan, Soc Trang, Long An and Vinh Long sent required reports on reviewing and planning industrial clusters to 2020.
On August 5, 2014, Deputy PM Hai approved the review results and planning of industrial clusters in the second phase in 26 localities, including Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Ha Noi, Hung Yen, Thanh Hoa, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Ninh Thuan, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre and An Giang.
