(ĐN)- Dong Nai is currently farming 1.535 million pigs, an increase of over 1 million apiece over the same period last year, according to the provincial Statistics Department.

The rise is attributable to price increases over the past three year, encouraging farmers to expand their operations. Most of the pigs in Dong Nai are being raised on farms, ensuring the epidemic diseases control and prevention.

Thong Nhat and Trang Bom districts have the largest farming pig population in the province.

Dong Nai is among the top pork purveyors in the south of Vietnam with 60 percent of its pigs sold in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.
