(ĐN)- Cam My district’s People’s Committee and Dekalb Vietnam Company are piloting the cultivation of genetically modified maize varieties including DK 9955R, DK9955S, DK6919R, etc in Song Ray commune.
The district has also cooperated with CP Vietnam Seedling Company the new modified maize varieties. Presently, the pilot models of maize cultivation have seen higher growth.
Cam My has petitioned the provincial People’s Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for technology transfer for farmers in order to expand the cultivation of genetically modified maize varieties.
The cultivation of the new varieties is aimed to raise the yield of maize trees as well as improve the competitiveness for the domestic corn.
