The General Department of Taxation would strive to apply e-tax declaration service to 15,000 businesses throughout the country by the end of this year.

Benefits

From February to July 2014, the tax sector piloted e-tax declarations for 246 taxpayers (businesses and individuals) in Hanoi, 11 and 40 cases in Bac Ninh and Vinh Phuc provinces through the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) with total amount of tax of VND208.6 billion.

According to a survey, e-tax declaration service remained modern, effective and convenient for taxpayers as well as the tax and banking sectors. Taxpayers participating in online declarations just need their bank account connected to the General Department of Taxation’s system.

Taxpayers can implement their payment at any time. In particular, thanks to simple procedures and easy lookup on these systems of the General Department of Taxation and banks, taxpayers can save costs and transaction time. In addition, e-tax declarations help reduce errors occurring at the treasury or bank counters.

E-tax declarations also help banks save resources as well as time in collating, checking and adjusting the data.

Expanding deployment

To date, the General Department of Taxation has officially launched e-tax declarations for taxpayers with BIDV account. However, the number of taxpayers through the system remained few. According to the General Department of Taxation, businesses remained familiar with paper documents and unfamiliar with electronic documents. In the coming time, the tax sector will promote propaganda in order to raise community awareness in terms of e-tax declarations.

According to the plan, by the end of this year, in addition to Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Vinh Phuc, the tax sector will launch e-tax declaration service to 15 provinces and cities throughout the country, including Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Da Nang, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to BIDV account, businesses with Vietcombank, Vietinbank, Agribank and MB accounts can participate in its service.

By August 2015, the tax sector will expand service to all provinces and cities throughout the country and all bank accounts./.
