(ĐN)- Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of the provincial People's Committee on August 11 had a working session with the counseling unit of Planning and Construction Center 2 under the National Institute of Urban and Rural Planning to listen to research report on adjusting the overall planning of Nhon Trach new urban area till 2030 with a vision to 2050.

According to the report of the consultant, the development of Nhon Trach new urban area needs to be harmonious between industry and services. Until 2020, the total land area for construction of the new city will be more than 10,700 hectares. By 2030, the figure will reach over 14,100 hectares with an estimated population at around 850,000 people.
The space of inner city will be developed from the district center today, which will be expanded along 25B and 25C routes to become the core of the new city.
The north area lying along Nha Be river, Ong Con isle and HCM city-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway will comprise areas for health services, ecological tourism. Meanwhile, the inner area of southwest Nhon Trach will be maintained the old villages, agro-ecological zones, and natural drainage area. The southeast Nhon Trach will be developed with Phuoc An port on Thi Vai river along with mangrove forests protection zone.
Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai suggested Nhon Trach District People's Committee to coordinate closely with the consultant to sooner complete the planning project in order to submit to Ministry of Construction for later report to the Government.
