Vietnam’s husbandry industry has been developing strongly in the past few years, raising the volume of meat and poultry consumption of the Vietnamese to 31.5 kilos per capita a year compared to the Asian average of 31.3 kilos.
Satra is one of the leading food traders, exporting rice, coffee, other farm produce and frozen sea products. The annual export turnover of the company is US$150 million with customers in over 50 markets.
As a partner of Dofico, Proconco boasted sales of 1.2 million tons and revenue of VND10 trillion a year. Meanwhile, Vissan as a well-known food processor will kick off the construction of an industrial cluster for food processing in Ben Luc District, Long An Province.
An executive of Vissan said the cooperation is targeted to raise and butcher one million pigs a year to supply high-quality pork for the local market.
