(ĐN)- Rising prices hit most consumer goods due to devaluation and inflation pressures. Local cooking gas retailers on Tuesday started revising up prices as world gas markets are rallying, coupled with higher input costs resulting from inflation. Major suppliers like Saigon Petro, Petrolimex Gas Saigon, Vina Gas announced that the retail price is up by VND9,000-10,000 to VND325,000-345,000 per 12-kg container.
The prices of imported milk also started to rise up to 6-18 per cent from Tuesday due to the recent 8.5 per cent devaluation of VND. In details, the prices of Abbott products increased by between 12-18 per cent, Similac IQ 400-gram box rose by 13 per cent to VND215,000/box, Similac IQ 900-gram box increased by 12 per cent to VND437,000/box. Some milk firms have registered to raise the milk prices with an average increase of between 5-17 per cent from March 1, including Nestle, Frisland Campina, 3A, Abbot and Mead Johnson.
Many taxi enterprises in Dong Nai started to increase fares from March 1 to cover the extra cost of fuel.
Most of supermarkets in Bien Hoa city also said that the prices of some goods like food, clothing, household appliances … will climb 5 to 15 percent in the coming days.
