(ĐN)- Dong Nai’s import-export turnover is estimated at more than $1,227 million in August alone, an increase of 3.04 percent compared to the previous month, according to the report from the Department of Industry and Trade. The figure raised the province’s total export-import turnover for the first eight months to $7,876 million, making up 50.8 percent of what is expected this year.
Accordingly, Dong Nai earned over $540.75 million from exports in August, up 3.6 percent month-on-month, bringing total exports in the first eight months to $3,768 million, fulfilling 51.9 percent of the year’s target. The province’s main export products included coffee (20,856 tonnes), refined wooden products ($16.9 million), textile and garment ($22.89 million), footwear ($18.67 million) and hand-made pottery products ($3.83 million).
In August, Dong Nai registered an import turnover of approximately $686.3 million, up 2.6 percent month-on-month, raising total import turnover to nearly $4,108 million in the past eight months of the year. Major import products were chemicals ($264 thousand), medicines ($2.56 million), raw materials for production ($26.18 million).
