(ĐN)- Due to the adverse impacts of the global economic crisis, Dong Nai saw a drop in investment inflows in the first four months of this year. Between January and April, about $54 million in foreign investment capital poured into Dong Nai, including both capital for new projects and additional capital for existing ones, the figure represented nearly 3 per cent of the year’s target, down 76 per cent on the corresponding period last year. During the same period, the province granted investment licenses to 12 domestic projects with total investment capital of VND 2,441 billion, accounting for 12.5 per cent of the year’s plan, a drop of 13 per cent from the same period last year. The provinces investment attraction has dropped to its lowest level in recent years.
In the first four months of the year, 657 new private enterprises were set up, raising the total number of private companies operating in the province to 8,700. At the same time, the existing private firms also raised their investment capital to VND1,813 billion in total. These figures represented over 21 per cent of the year’s plan, or a decrease of 53 per cent over the same period of last year.
