Sai Gon Port Company to invest in construction of ports in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- Leaders of the Sai Gon Port Company Limited has recently arrived in Dong Nai to discuss investment projects in construction of ports.

According to General Director of the Sai Gon Port Le Cong Minh, there is an increasing potential for marine cargo handling in Dong Nai because of significant increase in the volume of containers passing through Dong Nai’s ports but domestic requirements have exceeded the capacity of existing ports. Thus, it is necessary to invest in construction of ports in the province’s potential industrial development areas like districts of Long Thanh, Nhon Trach …. to meet increasing need.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh said that development of port clusters is a strategic objective of the provincial government. He also said that the province would create favorable conditions for the Sai Gon Port to start the construction of ports in rivers of Thi Vai and Long Tau soon. First of all, the Provincial People’s Committee will assign relevant agencies to help the Sai Gon Port carry out a survey to find out a suitable location for construction of ICD port.
