Dong Nai’s timber processing industry ranked third in the country

(ĐN)- On March 10, Dam Ngoc Nam, deputy director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Agro-products Processing and Trade Department held a working session with representatives of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Dong Nai.

Dong Nais timber products are highly evaluated at international fairs

Dong Nai’s timber processing industry is ranked the third in the country as to number of timber processing enterprises in the province of 214 with a total employees of over 40,000 people and a combined investment capital of around VND 7,000 billion. This industry’s export earnings represent 14 percent of the country’s total earnings from timber industry.

However, Dong Nai’s timber processing industry is facing numerous difficulties due to narrowed market and most of enterprises failing to obtain International Standards Organization (ISO) quality certifications, having no professional designers …

Mr. Dam Ngoc Nam said that difficulties faced by Dong Nai’s timber processing industry will be discussed in the seminar to be held in Ha Noi in March 18.
