(ĐN)- On March 10, Dong Nai Cooperative Alliance held a meeting to deploy its tasks in 2009. According to plan, the alliance will strive to establish 30 cooperation groups, 1 cooperative union, 20 cooperatives and people credit funds. Besides, it will re-organize 48 ineffective cooperatives, encourage and create conditions for cooperatives and 20 enterprises to become its members in 2009.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh stressed that the departments, agencies and localities need to work out specific policies in order to create favorable conditions for the development of collective economy. Moreover, the cooperatives should establish joint ventures with small and medium enterprises to develop together and enhance their competitive capacity in the international economic integration process.
Last year, 28 new cooperatives and 6 people credit funds were set up in Dong Nai with total charter capital of over VND393 billion, achieving 140 percent of the year’s plan. The province currently has 202 cooperatives operating in the fields of agriculture, industry, handicraft, transportation, commercial and service, environmental sanitation.
