(ĐN)- The Dong Nai Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has recently held a meeting to review activities in 2008 and work out tasks for 2009.
The department has fulfilled or exceeded its targets for 2008. It also set new targets for 2009, including providing vocational training for 57,000 people, creating jobs for 85,000 laborers, lowering the unemployment rate to 2.7%, lifting 12,000 households out of poverty, reducing the rate of childhood injury and increasing access to care and support services for all orphans and disabled children … In addition, the Department will give better care to those who rendered great service to the nation, war invalids and fallen combatant’s families.
Addressing at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Huynh Thi Nga pointed out the need for the Department to take measures to create jobs, reduce poverty, provide support to those who will be affected by the global economic crisis as well as limit the risk of people becoming poor again.
