Dong Nai’s customs checked 296,000 cases of arrears of tax demand outstanding in 2008 and arrears involved in such cases were more than VND 25 billion. In addition, the provincial customs department handled 987 administrative punishment cases with a total fine of VND 5.5 billion.
Dong Nais import and export value totaled US$1.7 billion in 2008, up 19 per cent over the figure recorded in 2007, according to customs statistics.
Dong Nai’s customs expects to exceed the target of VND 4,540 billion for 2009.
