Wharf extension project in Long Thanh completed

(ĐN)- The new wharf is constructed in the Go Dau A Port in Phuoc Thai Village of Long Thanh district in Dong Nai province with a total investment of over VND 30 billion. It is 110m long, 22m wide. The new wharf extension provides additional berth length to accommodate ships of up to 10,000 tonnes. The wharf was built to serve import-export activities of enterprises in the area.

General Director of the Dong Nai Port Joint- Stock Company Nguyen Manh Tien said that although the construction faced many problems such as bad weather and a rise in price of building materials, the new wharf contruction was completed in time and the company saved close to VND 6 billion in the cost of construction. Tien added his company predicted that the cost of construction would increase due to a soar in prices of construction materials and its contractor was advanced in payment of materials that would be used for the project.

The Go Dau A port will be expanded to 90 hectares in the future and it will  accommodate vessels up to 30000 DWT according to the plan approved by the Government.
