Food safety and animal hygiene are taking into account. A project Livestock Competitiveness and Food Safety (LIFSAP) is currently being prepared to support this development.
(ĐN)- Together with the World bank, the Vietnamese government is focusing on modernisation and growth of the livestock production sector, especially to meet the ever growing demand for human food. Food safety and animal hygiene are taking into account. A project Livestock Competitiveness and Food Safety (LIFSAP) is currently being prepared to support this development. Four provinces and cities including Dong Nai, Thai Binh, Ho Chi Minh and Ha Noi are given the opportunity to take part in LISAP project. If plans made by these localities are accepted, they will get benefit from the project.
The Project will be implemented in 5 years, starting in 2009. The total investment of the project will be US$ 75 million, of which, US$65 million will be loan from the World Bank.
The project’s development objective is to strengthen the capacity of agriculture sector institutions to provide critical agricultural support services and related infrastructure, thereby contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of selected Vietnamese agriculture sub-sectors
