(ĐN)- While many local businesses have had to reduce their production due to the impact of inflation and increased costs, Southern Agricultural Machinery Limited Co (Vikyno) has taken a series of measures to reduce energy consumption, improve product quality, reduce production costs and increase labour productivity. Vikyno works in 3 shifts around the clock which enables the company to nearly double its production capacity as compared the same period last year.
Vikyno reached turnover of over VND137 billion in the first half of this year, equal to 62 percent of the year’s plan, an increase of 50 percent on the same period last year. In which, its export turnover achieved over US$3.6 million, or 73 per cent of the year’s plan, up 53 percent against previous year.
The company’s staples included diesel engines, rice huller and polisher, gasoline engines; export of such products increased by 39 to 119 percent compared to the same period of 2007.
Over the past time, the price of Vikyno’s products was only 10% higher than that of last year although high raw material costs. Besides, the workers’ salary was also raised by 20 percent in first half.
Vikyno is expected to hit total turnover of VND 270 billion in 2008, of which, between $5.5 million and $6 million comes from exports.
