Bien Hoa 1 IP to be converted into An Binh service and commercial center

(ĐN)- Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee plans to convert Bien Hoa 1 industrial park (IP) into An Binh environmentally friendly service and commercial center. The project is expected to start in 2015.

Presently, the province is studying a conversion plan and the possible impact of the relocation plan and ways for implementation. Accordingly, Dong Nai would protect the interests of all companies in the park, which is home to 94 local and foreign enterprises.

Established in 1963, Bien Hoa 1 IP covers an area of 335 hectares and lies near the Dong Nai River, the main source of running water supply for the city. However, the park did not meet environmental protection standards, thousand of cubic metres of untreated waste water is discharged into the Dong Nai River everyday, seriously causing water pollution.
