The Vinashin Soai Rap Co, Ltd (VSR), an affiliate of the Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin), is building two ship equipment factories in Nhon Trach district, southern Dong Nai province.

The two projects are estimated to cost 800 billion VND (50 million USD).
The Yanmar Engine Production Factory, one of the VSR’s key projects, will manufacture marine engines for the domestic shipbuilding industry as well as for export. They will include electricity generators with capacities ranging from 240kW to 600kW and marine engines with capacities of 600-1000HP.
Once operational, the factory is expected to turn out 140 engines each year.
Meanwhile, with an annual capacity of over 30,800 products, the Soai Rap Ship Equipment Factory will specialise in producing hydraulic equipment, cables and electrical panels.
Construction of the two factories is scheduled to be finished in the third quarter of this year
