Dong Nai’s social economic development targets in April basically completed

(ĐN)- Recently, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot presided a meeting to review the implementation of the province’s social economic development targets in April and discuss tasks for May. Attending the meeting were Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Huynh Chi Thang, Vice Chairpersons and members of the provincial People’s Committee, and the leaders of departments, branches and agencies in the province. 

 

According to the reports, Dong Nai’s industrial production value in April estimated to reach VND19,349 billion or 31.5% of the year’s plan, an increase of 2 percent compared to last month, and 22.6 percent higher than that of 2006. In the field of agriculture, the province’s total area under cultivation in summer-autumn crop reached 86,400 hectares or 96.9 percent compared to the same period of last year. Besides, some strong measures have been taken to prevent recurrence of the bird flu epidemic in the province. The April consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.65 percent over that of March, of which the highest increases have been seen in food and foodstuff, telecommunications and post, healthcare services and medicine. In April, Dong Nai achieved export turnover of US$456.8 million, up 4.6 percent compared to the previous month; the province’s import turnover was estimated at approximately US$490.4 million, 2.4 percent higher than that of March. Total capital for investment and development in the first four month of this year was more than VND6,199 billion or nearly 31 percent the year target, up 15.5 percent compared to the same period of last year. However, the state budget collection in the past four months only achieved 22 percent of the plan.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Vo Van Mot stressed that more efforts must be made to successfully complete annual budget collection target. Accordingly, the relevant departments, branches and agencies should strengthen their budget collection work and make further contributions to the province’s socio-economic development.
