Dong Nai’s economic targets in 2007

(ĐN)- In 2007, Dong Nai is striving for a GDP growth rate of 15 percent. Accordingly, the province’s industry-construction sector will increase 17 percent, agriculture, forestry and fishery 4.1 percent, services 16.5 percent.

Accordingly, the province’s industry-construction sector will increase 17 percent, agriculture, forestry and fishery 4.1 percent, services 16.5 percent. Next year’s target aims for industry-construction to account for 57.4 per cent of the economic structure, service 30.2 per cent, agriculture, forestry and fishery 12.4 per cent. The State Budget collection in Dong Nai is expected to reach VND 9,905.5 billion this year , up 12.8% compared to the same period of 2006. With an increase in revenues State Budget expenditure is also expected to increase by 15.9 percent to VND3,631 billion, 15.9% higher than that of last year. The province is estimated that development investment capital in 2007 will be VND20,020 billion, making up 46.8 percent of GDP. Of the figure, VND9,600 billion comes from the domestic investment capital and VND10,420 billion from the foreign investment capital.

 

The province has set a target to reduce the population growth rate to 1.19 per cent by 2007. More than 98% infants will be vaccinated and the ratio of malnourished children will be also reduced.

 

77% of the labor force will be trained, the province will create jobs for 85,000 workers. The province’s ratio of poor households is projected to drop to 7.51 percent in 2007, 97% of the households will have access to electricity.

 

92% of the local households will have access to clean water. Household waste treatment rate will be 75% in Bien Hoa city and 55% in other districts, hazardous waste treatment rate 35% and  medical waste treatment rate 80%.

 

The forestry cover rate is 27%.
