
The southern province of Dong Nai attracted a total foreign direct investment (FDI) capital of nearly 1.08 billion USD in 2006, bringing the total registered FDI in the province to over 9 billion USD, ranking third after Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi.

The amount came from 211 projects in the year, among which 99 were newly licensed ones with a combined registered capital of more than 464 million USD.
At present, 773 valid FDI projects from 32 countries and territories have been operating in the province.
The provinces achievement was attributed to administrative reforms and the improvement of industrial parks infrastructure.
Dong Nai is currently home to 22 operational industrial zones (IZs) covering an area of 5,900 ha.
The province is focusing on improving infrastructure facilities and services in industrial parks with the aim to attract 1.2 billion USD in FDI in 2007.
