
(ĐN)- In the morning of December 27, Dong Nai Provincial Cooperative Alliance’s 3rd Congress was held at the meeting hall of the Provincial Party with the presentation of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh.

In the past five years, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance made considerable contributions to the province’s socio-economic development. Until the end of 2005, Dong Nai province had 2,513 cooperative groups, 19 people credit funds, 144 cooperatives with total chartered capital of more than VND90 billion and 3,936 privated enterprises to be established in the province with combined registered capital of approximately VND10 billion, creating jobs for over 2,000 labourers. Moreover, the private economic sector has made substantial contributions to social and charitable activities in the province such as building charity houses and raising funds for "paying debts of gratitude", fund for the poor, etc.
Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman Ao Van Thinh highly appreciated the contributions of the Provincial Cooperative Alliance to the province’s development. He hoped that the alliance would act as the bridge between cooperatives, enterprises and government agencies and it should make further contributions to local socio-economic development in international economic integration.
On the occasion, a new committee of the Dong Nai provincial Cooperative Alliance for the 2006-2010 term was elected and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tuyet chosen as Chairwoman of the provincial Cooperative Alliance again. The alliance donated VND27 million to flood victims in central region.
