The southern province of Dong Nai has attracted 448 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects so far, generating jobs for more than 251,000 workers.

This year the province posted an industrial production value of nearly 35.7 trillion VND ( 2.2 billion USD).
Sectors recording high industrial value include foodstuff and beverage production, earning nearly 8.4 trillion VND; leather tanning and semi-processing, almost 5.9 trillion VND; and textiles, more than 4.8 trillion VND.
Dong Nai is currently home to 21 operational industrial zones (IZ), which have wooed 825 projects invested by both local and foreign investors.
The province plans to build 32 new IZs covering an estimated area of 11,000 ha and 34 industrial clusters as part of its effort to become the main industrial hub of the country.
In 2007, it will concentrate on developing 16 key industrial sectors, including engineering, electricity, electronics, new materials, and hi technology.
