(ĐN)- Production value and export turnover of Dong Tien Garment Company surpassed the entire year’s target. Accordingly, the targets in 2006 such as turnover, profit, State budget contribution, export turnover and average income of laborers increased from 5-10 percent.
Especially, this was the year that Dong Tien made considerable contributions to social and charitable activities. The company donated more than VND 1.7 billion to “paying debts of gratitude” activities and others. Particularly, it supported to built 3 gratitude houses and take care of 5 heroic mothers, built 35 houses of charity worth VND226 million for the poor in the province; the company also offered VND300 million to construct a school in Tan Phu district, donated VND165 million to the province’s Study Encouragement Fund and VND260 million to the typhoon victims. Besides, it coordinated with the provincial Red Cross Chapter to provide free eye surgery to the poor with total of VND81.5 million. Moreover, Dong Tien gave VND150 million to Children Sponsor Fund and VND70 million to Fund for the Poor, granted VND107 million to provide free heart surgery for three children. The money was drawn from the company’s social fund and contributed by its employees.
