Ho Nai II Wood Company formed a joint venture with a French wood product company in 1989. However, Ho Nai II was split from the joint venture in 2001 becoming an independent company with an initial capital of VND30 billion. Since then, the company has been growing year on year and has now dominated the market in Dong Nai.

Vietnamese wood products have established a position in the domestic and export markets. Particularly, export earnings have been on the rise. The growth resulted from the efforts to expand the market and improve product quality and design.

Ho Nai II has taken market advantage in order to intensively invest in production and seek export markets for its key products such as household wood furniture and utensils. The products have gone to the large markets in Japan, the Republic of Korea and the US. The company earned over US$4 million from wood product exports to the US (its largest market) in 2005.

Despite the increasing need for wood materials, the company has closely followed the regulations on exploitation and utilization of timber resources. Its wood products are totally made of pine imports from New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. Apart from seeking stable sources of high-quality material, the company has invested in machinery and equipment to improve product quality. In addition, it has given much attention to improving design, offering competitive prices and ensuring delivery timeliness. Particularly, the company has regularly trained and retrained its technical workers in a hope to improve their skills, product quality and market competitiveness.

Following its policy to ensure product quality and diversify designs, the company has gained a reputation among customers and that way it has established a strong trademark for itself and feels confident of world integration after Vietnam joins the World Trade Organization (WTO).
