Previously, any particle board needed had to be imported from Indonesia and Malaysia due to not available in the country. At present, plywood or particle board is manufactured in Dong Nai province by Tan Hoa Phu Company Limited. Tan Hoa Phu’s particle board meets the same standards as imported product but is nearly half cheaper as that of Indonesia and Malaysia.

After more than 4 years of operation, Tan Phu Hoa has achieved strong brand recognition among Vietnam’s particle board suppliers. Starting from a small factory located in Binh Duong province with only a few tens of workers, Tan Hoa Phu now already has a large factory covering around 1.2 hectares situated in Tan Hoa Ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province. With advanced equipment and technical staff, Tan Hoa Phu has to date raised production capacity to 2,000 units per day from 200 units per day, representing a tenfold increase. The company is confident that it can supply high quality products to meet customer’s different demands. It instantly gains credibility and the trust and confidence of consumers throughout the country. The company achieves annual turnover of around VND 30 billion and creates jobs for more than 300 labors. The monthly average salary per employee in Tan Hoa Phu is VND 1.5 million.

Tan Hoa Phu has become Vietnam’s leading producer of particle board. At present, the company is attempting to extend its oversea markets worldwide because it is not pleased with results obtained in the past years. However, the turnover of particle board manufacturing companies has been decreased by 30% since April 2005 due to demand-supply imbalances caused by over-supply of particle board in the market. In order to survive in the market flooded with over supplies of particle board, Tan Hoa Phu had to change product offerings and invest in new production line to manufacture household goods from the raw material of bamboo. After 1 year of researching and working, the company is now skilled at making a variety of household goods and plywood from bamboo, offering more special features and it expects to fully satisfy requirements of domestic and oversea customers. This ability is to reliably satisfy customer demand and attract more customers, thus increasing the market share for Tan Hoa Phu’s products.
