Vietnam Suzuki sells 281,000 motorbikes and 12,700 automobiles

(ĐN) – This figure was revealed by Deputy General Director of Vietnam Suzuki Corporation. Of approximately 281,000 motorbikes and 12,700 automobiles the company has sold during the past 9 years since it was set up at Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Zone in 1996.

(ĐN) – This figure was revealed by Deputy General Director of Vietnam Suzuki Corporation. Of approximately 281,000 motorbikes and 12,700 automobiles the company has sold during the past 9 years since it was set up at Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Zone in 1996. To date, the company achieved its turnover of US$ 492 million and contributed US$ 74 million to the State Budget. Particularly, Vietnam Suzuki raised its production to 76,000 motorbikes and 4,000 automobiles in 2004. Besides, the company invested more US$ 20 million in building the second factory located in Lotecto Industrial Park. The new factory is expected to put it into operation at the end of 2005. Until now, production capacity of the company increased by 10 times compared with 1996. More 500 people were employed by Vietnam Suzuki. The company is already in control of Vietnam’s the second largest motorcycle and auto manufacturer among 12 companies nationwide. Especially, no dispute has arisen between employees and the owner during the past 9 years. 80% of total employees of the company joined the Trade Union organization. On the other hand, Vietnam Suzuki took an active part in social affairs or charity works.

Vietnam Suzuki was awarded certificate of merit by Prime Minister. General Director Tomohiro Fujita also received certificate of merit from Ministry of Industry. In addition, the company has been presented noble rewards from Trade Unions of Vietnam Industry Corporation, Machinery and Dynamic Corporation during many consecutive years. In the afternoon of August 5, 2005, Vietnam Suzuki held formally a ceremony to receive certificates of merit from Prime Minister and Ministry of Industry as well as certificates of ISO 14001-1996 and environmental management system granted by representative office of DNV organization in Vietnam. The ceremony was attended by VIPs such as Deputy Minister of Industry Do Duc Hao, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Peoples’ Committee Dinh Quoc Thai and many invited guests and clients.
