Vietnam is an attractive market with its large population and efforts to integrate into the global market, Korean entrepreneurs told a seminar Thursday.

Over 200 Korean businesses attended the seminar on investing in Vietnam , which was held in Pusan , the Republic of Korea (RoK).

The participants said they were greatly interested in the Vietnamese market, particularly since the country was set to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area soon.

Besides, its population of over 80 million too made it an attractive market, they said. They also evinced interest in manufacturing in Vietnam to export to third countries.

The seminar was hosted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, Korea Foreign Trade Promotion Agency and Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK.

The RoK is a major trading partner for Vietnam with bilateral trade totaling more than US$3.9 billion last year.

The RoK has invested over US$4.8 billion in 943 projects in Vietnam , ranking fourth among overseas investors in the country.
