Viet Nam winning confidence of Japanese investors

Viet Nam is topping the list of countries and territories winning the confidence of Japanese investors, the Kyodo news agency reported

 

In the first half of this year, Japan’ s direct investment in Viet Nam in terms of registered capital amounted to 161.8 million USD, a 3.3-fold rise from the corresponding period last year.

 

Kyoshiro Ichikawa, a senior investment adviser for the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency, was quoted by the news agency as saying that Viet Nam has a relative strength as compared with elsewhere, especially China .

 

He affirmed that it’s better for Japanese companies to invest in Viet Nam than to go to China .

 

According to Yuichi Bamba, director of the Japan External Trade Organization’s Ha Noi Representative Office, Japanese investors have highly valued the Vietnamese Government’s efforts to improve the country’s investment environment through development and refinement of legal systems.

 

He also said that expectations for Viet Nam’ s accession to the World Trade Organization are inspiring Japanese companies to invest in the country with a sense of security.
