(ĐN)- According to figures revealed by the Provincial Bureau of Statistics, industrial production value of Dong Nai is estimated in August to achieve 3,697 billion VND, jump 3% over the previous month. This increase is mainly due to a rise of industrial production value in Central state-owned enterprises of 11.6% and foreign-invested enterprises of 2.2%. Nineteen of the 25 main product groups in Dong Nai records an increase in this month due to major increases in electricity production and distribution of 79.79%; wood processing and wood furniture manufacturing of 7.75% and water supply of 9.6%.... However, industrial production value of local state-owned enterprises and non-state owned enterprises sustains a drop in August due to decline in major products such as food processing, beverage, tobacco production, garment, footwear, chemical, car repairing, etc. This is caused by unstable consumption. In addition, high input material prices and low sales prices are all threatening to these enterprises because they have to bear competitive pressure from foreign invested enterprises.
In the first eight months of this year, industrial production value in the province hits 27,580 billion VND, 20.3% higher than that of 2004, this accounts for 68.57 % of target 2005.
